Yes. NRIs, PIOs, and OCIs can freely purchase residential and commercial property in India without RBI approval. Agricultural land, plantation property, and farmhouses require special permission.

What currencies can be used for payment?

Payments must be made in Indian Rupees (INR) through normal banking channels — NRE, NRO, or FCNR accounts. Foreign currency remittances are converted to INR at the time of credit.

Can I repatriate the sale proceeds?
